Vacation Time! - June

The beginning of June was fairly relaxed. Noah and Shae began the summer with swim lessons for the first time. They already had a good foundation, but the swim lessons really boosted their confidence and got them excited about summer. Josh also somehow became convinced that he can swim, and he's scared us plenty of times with his fearless moves.

Shae and Noah both got to go to Vacation Bible School, and they both enjoyed it. Shae especially loved the music and has listened to the CD at least 100 times in the past month.

Shae loved her group leader Delancy.

At the end of the month, Noah went to a basketball camp in Argyle. He really enjoyed it and won awards for free throws and layups.

Most of June was all about swimming, relaxing, and catching up with friends. The last couple of weeks, Shae and I started gearing up for our big girl trip, which deserves its own post!

Busy Bees - May

I'm sure May will always be a BUSY time in my life, at least for the next 18+ years while I have children in school...but this May has to have been one of the craziest. Somehow we survived daily showings and the eventual selling of our first home (sniff) and moved to a much larger but very nearby house. My second semester of grad school officially ended, and I made the decision to skip summer school (GOOD decision). And in between all that, we had the usual kid fun. Which is the important part!

Noah proudly shared his Flat Stanley project with his kindergarten class. He was so fortunate to have the help of Dan's good friend, Shae's godfather, and world traveler Paul Murello.

Noah's first field day was a lot of fun. His class took the prize in the tug-of-war contest thanks to expert coaching by one of the parents, Noah's soccer coach, Coach Pat.

We enjoyed a trip with my mom and sister to a blueberry patch in Pilot Point. Twelve pounds of blueberries later, I was very thankful for my vacuum sealer and extra freezer space.

Noah was recognized for good citizenship at the end of year award assembly.

I didn't take many pictures of the crazy moving process, but here's one of the end results of moving -- the kids found random toys they didn't even know we had!

Also, my brother got Confirmed at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, and I had the honor of being his sponsor. I was very proud!

Wrapping Up - April

April is one of my favorite months. Many things kind of wrapped up -- kid activities, grad school, birthday season...and we took a quick breather before everything got busy again at the end of Noah's kindergarten year.

Shae finished up a fun year of gymnastics at WinKids.

Noah finished his third season of soccer with the mighty Wolves. He became quite an offensive player this year, and we had so much fun watching him score goals and really get into the game!

We enjoyed Easter festivities with my family and the Fergusons.

Noah and Dan got the chance to go to 2 Rangers games, and they let Shae, Josh, and I tag along for one.

I got to chaperon Noah's first field trip -- a day at the Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville.

Noah had a fun 6th birthday party in conjunction with one of his best friends Ryan.

Grandmary treated us to a showing of Disney Princesses on Ice. It was a hit!

We spent some time at my favorite local annual event, the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival.

And Josh got the important job of announcing that we are expecting another little boy!

I think I hit the highlights!
